7/10 On A Number Line

Stand for these numbers on the number line. (i) 7/4    (ii) -5/six

Solution:

The positive numbers are on the correct of 0 and negative numbers are represented on the left of 0 on a number line.

The denominator of the rational number indicates the number of equal parts into which i unit of a number line has to be divided into whereas the numerator indicates how many of these parts are to exist taken into consideration.

(i) 7/4

Since 7/4 is an improper fraction, we will convert this to a mixed fraction.

7/4 =\(1{\Large\frac{three}{4}}\)

The first unit has to exist divided into 4 parts and we have to make 7 markers of distance towards the right of 0.

These markings will begin with 1/4 upto seven/4.

4/four = 1 on the number line, thus, to plot\(one{\Large\frac{three}{iv}}\)we will movement three positions towards the correct from 4/4 which is 7/4.

Represent these numbers on the number line(i) 7/4, (ii) -5/6

(ii) -5/6

The first unit has to exist divided into six parts and nosotros accept to make 5 markers of distance towards the left of 0 since it is negative.

These markings will brainstorm with -1/6 up to -5/6.

Hence, we will move past five positions towards the left from 0 which is -5/six.
